The Good Lands: Canada Throught the Eyes
of Artists. Vancouver; Berkeley; London:
Figure 1, 273 p.

The lands in the title of this marvellous compilation echo the ancestral territories belonging to the First Nations peoples, their history given prominence via the indispensable vehicle of art.   A paradigm shift is taking place in the way we view our past, as long overdue story of Indigenous contribution and culture is brought to the forefront. Auspiciously, it is happening while Canada celebrates its 150th anniversary, thus the book is both a paean and a mea culpa.
